In keeping with the film’s sci-fi theme, Carlos - who had previously composed the scores to A Clockwork Orange and The Shining - collaborated with Annemarie Franklin in mixing an analog Moog synthesizer, a GDS digital synthesizer, and non-electronic pieces performed by the London Philharmonic Orchestra. The release marks the first one-disc heavyweight vinyl pressing of Wendy Carlos’ original TRON soundtrack. All three arrive on heavyweight vinyl on May 27th via UMC/Walt Disney Records. This includes the soundtracks to 1982’s TRON and 2010’s TRON: Legacy, as well as the 2011 remix album, TRON: Legacy Reconfigured.

Those expecting a thumping club soundtrack, rather than the rousing score they actually deliver, will enjoy 'TRON: Legacy (End Credits)' where blippy distortion rides a dance beat while still maintaining the central theme. Im sure youve also noticed that tracks are in semi chronological order, but then there are some tracks that come after song 21: TRON Legacy (end titles) Im curious if anyone has taken the time to find where these other 10 tracks fall into the over all soundtrack of the movie, chronologically. The booming bass and quietly pulsing synth give it a distinctly early eighties computer film vibe, which follows on tracks like pulsing bass and distant flickering synth of 'Armory' and tense, thundering drums of 'Rinzler', as Daft Punk succeeds at seamlessly blending electronica and orchestra. So as I assume many of you have the soundtrack to Legacy.
